Vaikunta Ekadasi

Vaikunta Ekadasi festival is being celebrated in Tamil month "Margazhi" and dedicated to Lord Maha Vishnu. Vaikunta Ekadasi falls on 28th of December 2009. This is an auspicious day for Hindus doing pujas and make darshan of Lord Maha Vishnu. In this day only the door to the Vaikunta (abode of Lord Vishnu) will be kept open for devotees. It is to be believed that those who make an entry to the Vishu Temple through the "Swarga Vasal"("Swarga" means Heaven & "Vasal" means Entrance) will reach Heaven. In Kerala "Vaikunta Ekadasi" is know by the name "Swarga Vathil Ekadasi". Scores of devotees will make a darshan at Guruvayoor Temple.
